Quick answer: A library management app puts the library on a phone. With FlyLib mobile access, students can search the catalogue and see their loans and due dates, and librarians can use library tools away from the desk.
Students already do almost everything on their phones, except, in many institutions, use the library. To find out whether a book is available they still have to walk to the library and ask. Librarians, too, are tied to one desktop.
Why mobile access matters for libraries
When readers can search and check loans from their phones, more of them use the library, fewer books go overdue, and the desk spends less time answering simple questions.
What the FlyLib library management app offers
FlyLib mobile access serves both sides of the desk:
- Catalogue search: students find books from anywhere.
- Loans and due dates: readers see what they have borrowed and when it is due.
- Librarian tools: staff can work away from the desk.
- Connected to the catalogue: the same live data as the library system.
Part of a complete library management system
FlyLib brings the whole library into one system:
- Cataloguing for print and digital collections
- Circulation: issue, return, renew and overdue tracking
- Patron management for students, staff and members
- Book lifecycle tracking from acquisition to withdrawal
- Mobile access for librarians and students
- E-book and audiobook management
- Inventory and stock verification
- Reports for librarians and management
